Northline Analytics (demo) serves warehouse metrics and forecasting APIs for mid-market retail. The platform org keeps clusters healthy, deploys safe, and keeps error budgets from quietly burning every sprint.

What you will do

• Run design reviews for new services: ingress, mTLS, rollout strategy, and rollback playbooks that actually get rehearsed
• Own core traffic paths (edge → mesh → data plane): chase tail latency, noisy neighbors, and cold starts with metrics, not hunches
• Partner with product teams to turn incident write-ups into durable fixes—quota guards, backpressure, circuit breakers, not extra hero shifts

What we need

• 7+ years shipping distributed systems; you have on-call war stories and postmortems you are proud of
• Fluency in at least one systems language (we use Go) and production Kubernetes
• You write crisp RFCs, teach by pairing, and push for automation when the same ops task hits twice

How we will interview you

45 min screen with a platform lead, 90 min systems deep-dive, half-day virtual onsite with a design exercise on scaling a read-heavy service, and a short meet with the hiring manager. We return written feedback after every stage.
